Full Packing Service in Portsmouth | Smart Move

Full packing with the cartons, newsprint, and crew supplied, the kitchen, closets, and brittle pieces cushioned and marked by room so move day is pure muscle

People obsess over the carry, but a move is won or lost at the packing stage. A properly boxed home loads quickly, travels without rattling, and opens back up room by room; one crammed into liquor-store boxes and garbage sacks at the last minute turns up dinged, out of order, and days behind. The furniture gets wrapped regardless, yet a full pack means we arrive with the cartons, the paper, the tape, and the people, and we case up the kitchen, the closets, the artwork, and the stemware, leaving move day as pure muscle work. Cole and his people bring the same standard to a South End rowhouse, an Exeter colonial, or a Portwalk condo, geared to the home and the timeline.

How a full pack actually goes

Doing it right bears no resemblance to flinging a moving blanket across a sofa. The crew turns up stocked with sized cartons, dish barrels divided into cells, wardrobe boxes that let your clothes ride straight off the rod, and clean newsprint plus bubble for anything brittle. Dishes stand on their edges, glasses get individual wrapping, lamps and framed pieces each claim a box, and televisions go in proper containers instead of riding loose under somebody’s arm. We mark every carton with its room so it ends up where it belongs, and a numbered list keeps the tally honest. The charge is one fixed amount geared to the home and rolled into the move quote, and you can turn over the entire house or only the rooms you would sooner avoid, which is usually the kitchen and the glass-front cabinet.

The way homes are built around here is precisely why packing matters as much as hauling. A South End rowhouse with a pinched entrance and a long pull to the curb is no spot for a bulging box that gives way on the way out, and a downtown condo holding a single booked freight window rewards a load already cased up and set to roll the moment we pull in. Packing tight, square, and dense lets us carry faster, which trims the hourly meter and guards that elevator slot. Whether you hand us a four-bedroom to case up before a coast-to-coast haul or just one studio kitchen, each box is made to survive the trip.

“Booked these guys for our condo near Market Square and it went fine overall. Kayla had the elevator reservation and the COI squared away with the building manager before the date, which I appreciated, and the crew was careful with the corners in that narrow hallway. Knocked off a star only because they ran about thirty minutes behind the morning window and I had to text twice for an arrival time. Once they got there, though, the whole thing moved fast and the quote held to the dollar.”

“We have one of the old houses in the South End, no driveway, one-way street, the works, and I figured moving day would be a nightmare. Tyler walked the route first, figured out where the truck could legally sit, and his crew threaded our furniture out the front without a single ding on those old door casings. Honestly the best money we spent on the whole sale.”

“Couldn't be happier. Two-bedroom over near Atlantic Heights, the boys had us loaded and unloaded in half a day and the flat rate was exactly what Cole wrote down. No sales tax in NH and no surprise fees from Smart Move, so that was a good day all around.”

Service FAQ

Do you bring the cartons, or am I buying them?

We bring them. Sized cartons, dish barrels with cell dividers, wardrobe boxes, clean newsprint, bubble, and tape all come with the crew, matched to your home. There is nothing for you to hunt down or assemble beforehand; we arrive set to case up the kitchen, the closets, and the brittle pieces.

Can I do a few rooms myself and leave you the rest?

Yes, and that arrangement is common. Lots of folks case their own books and clothing and turn over the rooms they would rather skip, typically the kitchen and the glass-front cabinet. We cushion, box, and mark whatever rooms you assign us, and the price drops to cover only that portion.

How is the packing priced?

As one fixed amount geared to your home and the rooms in play, rolled into the move quote. The low end is a single studio kitchen, the high end a whole four-bedroom. We assess the place and name the packing figure beforehand, supplies included, so no per-carton bill turns up afterward.

Will my breakables really come through whole?

Cased up properly, yes. Dishes stand on edge, glasses get wrapped one by one, lamps and framed pieces take their own boxes, and electronics go in proper containers with bubble. A tight, square box will not slide in transit, and sliding is what shatters breakables. Each carton is marked and listed, so none of it goes missing either.

Can you pack for a long-haul or a storage move?

Both. We case things to the standard distance demands, tight, square, and marked, so the load travels quiet over the miles, and those very cartons head right into our climate-controlled storage if a wait opens before delivery. Tell us the destination and we price the pack by itself, or the pack and the move as one.
